COMMUNITY ACTION PROJECTS

College and University Relations - Connects us with local institutions including  the University of Central Florida, Rollins College, Seminole State College, and Valencia State College.

Educational Foundation - Supports AAUW national research grants by fund raising events such as the annual Literary Luncheon.

Expanding Your Horizons - Introduces girls in grades 4 through 8 to careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) presented by the University of Central Florida.

Junior Achievement  - Designs programs for all grade levels to help our members work with students annually in local elementary and high schools.

Legal Advocacy Fund - "Supports and defends women" against discrimination and harassment in education and the workplace, with an annual November program to update members and raise funds for plaintiffs' cases.

PACE Center for Girls (Progressive, Academic, Cultural, Education) - Our members support PACE Center Orange by providing volunteers, mentors and board members, by serving a Thanksgiving dinner to students and their families, by giving holiday gift boxes, school items for students' use, and by maintaining the PACE gardens.

Public Policy  - AAUW members convey women's and girls' concerns to legislators in person and by e-mail, including lobbying in Tallahassee in tandem with the League of Women Voters.

Women's History Month (March) - Members provide programs and materials to enhance school curricula.
